The Netherlands announced the donation of 25 armored vehicles for medical evacuation, YPR-765 PRGWT, to the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans highlighted the importance of continued support for Ukraine, which has been fighting Russian aggression for three years. According to him, the country has already allocated more than $10.5 billion for military assistance, of which $6.3 billion has been effectively used. Additionally, the Netherlands recently completed the delivery of the last batch of T-72 tanks to Ukraine.
The YPR-765 PRGWT vehicles are designed for evacuating the wounded and are unarmed. Their crew consists of three people, with space for five soldiers in the troop compartment. The interior includes seats, spaces for stretchers, and a diesel heater to ensure comfort during transport.
In addition to the armored vehicles, the Netherlands also provided a new batch of F-16 fighter jets to the Ukrainian Air Force. In December, the Dutch government announced an additional investment of $23.1 million to strengthen Ukraine’s air defense and cybersecurity. The aid also includes about 30,000 military uniforms for Ukrainian troops.
